Lanthier, Edward Ed passed away at the Georgetown hospital on Friday March 29th, 2013 at the age of 86. Loving husband of the late Isobel. Proud father of Robert (Jane) Lanthier of Georgetown and Debbie (John) Macnamara of Waterdown. Cherished grandpa of Shawn (Jen), Michael, Ryan, Heather (Dave) Michel, John Macnamara and Dave Macnamara. Great grandfather of Cole, Kyle, Grayson, Hailey and Connor. Also survived by his sisters Cecile Willars and Lillian Tremblay and his brother Mike Lanthier, many nieces, nephews extended family and friends. Predeceased by his siblings, Dorothy, Louis, Therese and Paul. Ed served the Niagara Region as an Ontario Land surveyor for over 40 years working until the age of 71. Always active, his enjoyment of hockey was replaced by skating on Tuesdays in Jordan. His 15 years as a ski patrol allowed him to meet many people and he enjoyed skiing right up until 2012. Summertime enabled him to meet his friends at the golf course and last year he played 18 holes most days at Fort Erie Golf Club and was a member of the Seniors league at Rio Vista. Possibly his most enjoyable times were spent with his fellow fiddlers and the Niagara Olde Time Fiddlers a group he was a past president of. He would build violins in his home workshop and looked forward to his Tuesday jam sessions. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements.
