Obituary of Kenneth Wayne Hanrahan
HANRAHAN, Kenneth "Ken, Kenny, 2Dads" - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ken Hanrahan announces his passing on Sunday morning, February 4th, 2018 at St. Joseph's Hospital (ICU) in Hamilton. He was so thrilled to have received the long sought after kidney transplant on December 22nd, as he put it, "the best Christmas Gift I ever had", but unfortunately he had a series of complications and medical set backs, which after a brave but short battle took his life. Loving husband to Iris Hanrahan. Beloved father to Tara, Cynthia (Matt), and father-in-law to Shirley. Grandfather to Jeffrey, Justin, Thea, Julia, Ryan, Liam, Ben. Great-grandfather to Alex. He will be greatly missed by his many friends. He was predeceased by his son, Barry. He will be remembered by family and friends as a caring, loving, generous man; he held on strongly to his faith and always demonstrated a passion for helping others. His sense of humour, one-of-a-kind dance moves, and a love for old cars and hockey will fondly be remembered by all. Benner Funeral Services (1105 Benner Ave.) has been entrusted with arrangements. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church (310 Central Ave., Fort Erie) on Saturday, February 10th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ontario Kidney Foundation.
