I am saddened to hear of the passing of Ms. Spencer-Hill. I will forever be grateful to her for asking/tricking my child into being in the production of Beauty and the Beast at St. Michael's high school. My daughter, a very shy person, was initially convinced to be a set mover, then was given a costume to wear, then was given a pitchfork to hold and finally, a line to deliver. As a Drama teacher myself, I hoped I would see my child on stage one day but...didn't hold much hope. I know the work that goes into mounting a production, but more importantly, I know the connections and experiences young people get from being in a school production. The gratitude I have for Ms. Spencer-Hill having taken the time to convince my daughter to participate and make some friends is immeasurable. I never believed I would see my child ever take the stage but, when she did I turned to Rebecca, who was behind me in the audience, tears in my eyes, beaming with joy and pride and I thanked her. I hope that her family is comforted from knowing their mother/daughter/sister/friend has connected with and gifted so many people with memories, love and laughter.

I am so very sorry to hear of Rebecca's passing and send my deepest condolences to her family. She was my drama teacher at St Michael's high school in the late 90s and made a huge impact on my life. At a time when I was a struggling teenager, she was my biggest supporter. She was a talented, passionate teacher and inspired me to further my training in classical theatre. May she rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.

My sincerest condolences to the Spencer-Hill family, Mrs. Spencer-Hill was looked upon fondly by her peers and students. She was an excellent English teacher along with having a fine eye for the dramatic arts. I want to thank her for igniting my love for theatre and many others she inspired along the way while putting on her amazing shows. I’m so very saddened to learn of Rebecca’s passing. I was the head of Student Services at a Saint Michael HS for many years and worked with Rebecca as we planned her Drama and English classes. She was so full of life and so respected by the teachers and students alike. Rebecca had a great smile and a wonderful laugh. She brought happiness to all she met.
