Obituary of Ann M. Guilmette

GUILMETTE, Dr. Ann Marie (nee Gallagher) Guilmette November 17, 1951 - August 15, 2017, esteemed Professor at Brock University in Recreation and Leisure Studies until her retirement in 2010. Much loved daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, colleague, staunch advocate and mentor. Ann Marie is survived by Bonnie Gallagher (Paul), Arlene Gallagher Purpura (David), Lynn Gallagher Wolbert, Mike Gallagher and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews who will sorely miss all the treats. Predeceased by her beloved husband Jim Guilmette, nephew Michael Purpura and brother Paul Gallagher. To honour Ann Marie's wishes, absolutely no flowers please. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the WISH Home, Welland. BENNER FUNERAL SERVICES, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 310 Central Ave., Fort Erie on Saturday, August 19 at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at a later date. A celebration of Ann Marie's life and accomplishments will be held at a later date.
