Obituary of Metta Grimmell

Metta B. Grimmell (nee Honey), July 7, 1924 - Nov.16, 2015 The family of Metta B. rejoices that she is now safe in the arms of Jesus, our Lord, joining her beloved husband Harold (2004) and family and friends that have gone on before. Predeceased by parents Seldon and Laura Honey and brother Robert. Survived by siblings Gwen Curtis and David Honey(Carol). Mother of Linda Gorham (Ric), Martha Brown(Robert),Robert Grimmell (Annette), and Laurie LaBelle (Garth). Cherished grandmother of seven grandsons, seven great-grandchildren and aunt to several nieces and nephews. Mom was a life-long member of Central Avenue United Church, teaching Sunday School, leading CGIT groups and a member of the UCW. She lived her faith through her love for family, friends and others, knitting preemie sets for the Guardian Angels program and beautiful sweaters for her family. Her concern and care for others was shown all her life, even to her last days at her home in Gilmore Lodge, where the wonderful staff, her friends and Dr. Scher supported her to the last. Benner Funeral Services entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Nov.19 from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral Services will be held at St. John's Stevensville United Church, Sodom Rd. at 11:00 am on Friday, November 20 with interment at McAffee Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom's name to COPE, or the Mission and Service Fund of the United Church would be appreciated by the family.
