ARMSTRONG, Thomas Earl - Passed away on Friday November 6, 2015 at the Welland Hospital at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Hilda. Dear father of Timothy (Sandra), Margaret (Chris) Bougie, Julie (Bart) vonKalckreuth and Theresa (Brian) Mooney. Cherished grandfather of Christopher, Clinton, Kyle, Leanne, Gordon, Ashley, Zowie, Nolan and Justin. Brother of Harrie (Irene) and Muriel Low (the late Bill). Predeceased by his siblings Dick (Marie), Butch, Norma, Betty, Susan, Nellie, June and Northy. Brother-in-law of Margaret Neiderland. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Tom was a veteran of the Korean War recently receiving a Peace Medal from Korea. He was an avid golfer, a member of the Knights of Columbus, very active in the Ontario Minor Hockey Association up to the provincial level and was a Referee in Chief. For his dedication to Minor Hockey Tom was inducted to the Wall of Fame. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., have been entrusted with arrangements. Tom's family will receive friends on Tuesday November 10th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. A service under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 71 will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 5:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday November 11th at 1 p.m. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery on Stonemill Rd. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or the Royal Canadian Legion Br.71.
