Obituary of Nick Langelaan

Nick passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Douglas Memorial Hospital on October 3rd, 2015 at the age of 80. He was a loving husband to Theresa for 55 years. Proud father of Grace (John) Gress, Marge Ott, Casey (Leigh), Nancy (Derrick) Teal, Jack (Tami) and Dwayne (Arlene). Sadly missed by his 10 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. He will forever be in the hearts of his sister Willie (Bob) Bernais and his brothers Tony (Laura), Hugh (Jackie) and Bill (Linda) sisters in law Anne,Willie and brother in law Joe Sneek, as well as his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Cornelius and Margaret, his brothers Fred and Hank, his sister Margaret and his sister in law Charlene. He will also be missed by many relatives in Holland. Nick was a proud papa to his grandchildren and enjoyed watching them participate in their various activities. He loved to spend time with his many friends on the golf course and was an avid Blue Jays fan. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave. have been entrusted with the arrangements. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9. Funeral Mass will be conducted at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 pm. Parish prayers will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 8:30. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Douglas Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family.
