Obituary of Elizabeth Meagher

Meagher : Elizabeth Helen Helen passed away at Gilmore Lodge in Fort Erie on Saturday December 27th, 2014 at the age of 96. Predeceased by her husband Gordon and her son James. Proud mother of Bruce (Mary) Meagher of Fort Erie. Loving grandmother of Richard, Mark, Kieran, Aerynne, Shannon, Dianne, Dylan, Brandon and Evan and greatgrandmother of Justin, Sarah, Adhara, Aevan, Daphne and Jordan. She will be fondly remembered by her many friends including Burdett Sisler and family, Margaret, Joyce, Ricky and Chandra. Helen was predeceased by her siblings Frances, Charlie, Stanley, Sophie, William, Teddy and Eddy and is survived by her many nieces and nephews. Helen's values centred around her family, faith and community. The eldest living member of St. Michael's CWL and a proud member of St. Michael's Church. She helped to develop the local Dandi-Lions Club to assist individuals who are blind and visually impaired, a member of the Douglas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary as well as the Town of Fort Erie Sr. Advisory Committee. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5 - 8 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:30 at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow in McAffee Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the ALS Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
