Obituary of Charlie Warner
Warner, Charles Earle Charlie
After being continuously hospitalized from March 15, 2013 until October 26, 2014, Charlie came home. Pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth, a misadventure with his partial foot amputation required the services of a wound care nurse every three days. After all of the adversities, Charlie died peacefully in his sleep the morning of December 1, 2014 in his 69th year.
Charlie worked for his father in the collecting and recycling business in the Niagara Peninsula. He would beguile those on his route by wearing a lampshade hat. Once you met Charlie, you never forgot him. He was described by a neighbourhood friend as a diamond in the rough. His rough exterior hid a soft middle and he would help everyone. He was always a joker who lived to have fun. Charlie was a truck driver who could drive anything. He drove snow ploughs, backhoes, dump trucks and semis for a number of different employers.
He will be missed by brother, Frank (Carmen) Warner, sisters Pearl Pepetti, Janice Warner, Linda Cannon, Virginia Barr and sisters-in-law Linda Warner and Florie Warner. Grieving in-laws include George Hanes, Carol (Dun) Taggart, Rosemary Hanes, Nora (Terry) Moore and Susan McNamara. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, good neighbours and friends.
Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie are entrusted with arrangements. In keeping with Charlie's wishes, cremation has taken place and, following a memorial service at the funeral home on Monday, December 8 at 11:00 am, the co-mingled ashes of Charlie and his late wife, Elizabeth Hanes, will be interred at St. John's Ridgemount.
