Obituary of Matt Schaffer

Schaffer : Mathias "Matt" Matt passed away at Gilmore Lodge on Sunday June 29th, 2014 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of the late Anna. Loving father of Richard (Emily) of Sault Ste. Marie, David of Edmonton and Linda (Jim) Caughlin of Sarnia. Proud grandfather of Andrea (Mike Bailey) Schaffer of Australia and Matthew (Riley) of Sault Ste. Marie and great grandfather of Taya and Gavin. Also survived by his brother Frank (Judy) his brother in law Charles Lacey and sister in law Mary Hoanzl and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers John (Ruth), Joseph and his sister Katherine Lacey. Matt will be sadly missed by his longtime companion Marg Russell. Matt was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Erie. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Thursday July 3rd from 12 noon until time of funeral at 1 pm in the Benner Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
