Obituary of Kenneth Ramsay

Rev. Kenneth Alan Ramsay, B.A. [Hons], M.Div., minister emeritus of Faith Reformed Church Stevensville, died peacefully at home on May 21, 2014 in the presence of his wife and daughter. Born in Montreal in 1953 to Charles and Marion Ramsay (nee Wedderburn), Ken grew up in Montreal, Dartmouth NS and finally, Mississauga. He graduated from Erindale Secondary School, a star athlete and scholar. After earning a BA in English from Queen's University he worked as an insurance adjuster before entering the University of Toronto to study divinity. Ordained in 1987, he was received into the Reformed Church in America in 1990 and became the founding pastor of Faith Reformed Church. There he preached God's sovereignty, justice and grace for 23 years. Diagnosed with cancer in 2012, Ken faced it cheerfully, knowing that in all things God works for the good of those who love him. He appeared in the pulpit as long as he was able. In his last days he ministered to visitors from his hospital bed. Ken is survived by his wife of 33 years, the former Cathy Ann Love, their daughter Elizabeth (Mrs Cole Hayes), grandchildren Daisy, Ella, Charlie and Benjamin Hayes, his parents, brothers Tom and Jim, sister Janet, three nephews, two nieces and two grand-nephews.
