Obituary of Grace Awre
Loving mother of Sharon (late Norman) Insley and Carol (late Dennis) Hutton. Grace passed away peacefully at Bella Senior Care Residence in Chippawa on Tuesday March 4th, 2014. at the age of 97. Wife of the late Henry Awre (1974).
Born in Bridgeburg on February 6th, 1917 Grace was the youngest daughter of May and Ben Krafft and was predeceased by her sisters Myrtie Krafft and Ruth Weaver.
Affectionately known as "Grandma Cookie" she was a grandmother and great grandmother to Tom & Carolyn Insley, Greg & Kelly Insley, Sean & Traci Hutton, Jenn & Andreas Gmoser and their families Alisa & Heather Insley, Donny & Lily Insley, Madison & Riley Hutton and Emmah & Noah Gmoser.
Cherished Aunt of Dianne Peddle, her husband Ray, their children Steven, Scott & Shawna & their families. Forever missed by very "special family friends" Shirley (late Bob) Norman, Brad Norman and Susan (Paul) Renshaw.
Following her graduation from High School she started to work as secretary to Mr. Willson at Willson's Brokerage and later was the bookkeeper at Barnhart Plumbing.
Grace was a proud member of St. Paul's Anglican Church and the ACW for over 60 years working at countless Christmas Bazaars and church dinners.
Benner Funeral Services 1105 Benner Ave. Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. Family and friends are invited to call at the Benner Funeral Home on Tuesday March 11th, from 3- 6 pm
A Celebration of Grace's Life will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church at 11am on Wednesday March 12th, followed by burial in the churchyard and a reception in the Parish Centre. In memory of our mother donations may be made to St Paul's Church or a charity of your choice.
