Obituary of Aarne Tupula

Tupala: Aarne Passed away November 28th, 2013 in his 84th year at the Greater Niagara General Hospital. Born in Asikkala Finland on August 17th, 1929, Aarne was the beloved husband of the late Margaret and proud father of Rod (Lisa) Tupala and Kim Tupala. He is sadly missed by his grandchildren Jessica, Ethan, Connor, Max, Mitchell and Kayleigh. Predeceased by his parents Lisakki and Laina (Vuorinen) Tupala, brothers Toimi and Toivo Tupala and his sister Helmi (Rantanen) he is also survived by his extended family and friends in Canada, United States and Finland. Aarne worked as a millwright for Algoma Steel for over 30 years before retiring with Margaret to the Diamond Lake home that they had built over the previous years. He moved just 5 years ago to Fort Erie. He loved the outdoors spending countless hours fishing and hunting. His passion for sports led him to be very involved in a variety of sports with cross country skiing being a favorite and he was a founding member of the Soo Finnish Club. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with private funeral arrangements. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be planned for June or July 2014 in Sault Ste. Marie.
