Obituary of Frank Tillmanns

Tillmanns, Franz Josef (Frank) - 82 Frank passed away at the Douglas Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness, peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, February 14th at the age of 82. Survived by his cherished wife Shirley (Lofthouse) of 47 years, lovingly remembered by his children, Peter, Gery, Heidi, Paul and Frank Jr., their spouses as well as Frank’s many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loving nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends. Frank was predeceased by his son Ron. Frank was born in Dusseldorf, Germany on April 17th, 1930, the youngest of 13 children. Frank moved to Canada in his late teens, was a proud member of the I.B.E.W. for most of his professional life. Frank travelled extensively, enjoyed fishing, a game of cards & spending time with his dogs. A memorial service will be held at Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Road, Fort Erie on February 23, 2013 at 11 am. A celebration of Frank’s life will take place at the Black Creek Community Centre, 3303 Townline Road, Stevensville at 12:30 the same day. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
