Obituary of Helen Peacock

PEACOCK, Helen Elizabeth “Miss Helen” – On Monday October 1, 2012 peacefully at the Douglas Memorial Hospital at the age of 86 years with her loving family at her side. “Miss Helen” beloved wife of the late Albert Peacock (2004). Dear mother of Pamela (Carl) Hensler. Beloved “Marm” of Chad and Kyle. Predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Jane (Bob) Meier of Buffalo and survived by her sister-in-law Katherine “Kip” McDonald. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, the entire family at Peacock School of Dance and special friends of her church community. Helen was devoted to her community and loved the time spent with her directors, Miss Pam, Miss Derene, and Miss Lesley and the rest of the wonderful teaching team with Judy as Secretary. Helen will always be remembered for sharing her love of dance with thousands of children from our community for over the last six decades. Special thanks to Dr. C. Che for all of the tender loving care he extended to Helen over the years and especially in her final days. BENNER FUNERAL SERVICES, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. Friends may call on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Friday afternoon at 3:30. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. George Roman Catholic Church, 56 Ridgeway Road, on Saturday morning at 11 o’clock. Rite of committal will follow at Ridgeway Memorial Cemetery. Helen spent her life encouraging and mentoring children to succeed and as such those who wish, may make a memorial donation to a scholarship to further the education of students entering the fine arts.
