Mawdsley, Elizabeth "Bettie” (nee King) June 30, 1926 - June 22, 2012 It is with extreme sadness that the family announces the loss of a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Bettie passed away peacefully at the Maple Park Lodge in Fort Erie with her family at her side. Beloved wife of the late Norman (2008) who she shared over 58 years of marriage with. Loving mother of Geoff (Fran) of Ridgeway and Alison McGowan of Essex. Proud grandmother of Sean (Joanna) Richardson of Windsor and Heather Richardson of Kingston. Step Grandchildren, Dara (Renee) Mason, Denise (Mike) Bouchard and David Rector. Step Great Grandchildren, Hope, Issac, Tyler, Brody, Braydon and Charles. Beloved sister to Mary Wotherspoon, Jan McRoberts, Cynthia Butler and Tom King all in Britain and sister in law to Joan (Bob) Donaldson of Mossley, Ont. and Lynn Mawdsley and Dennis (Margaret) Mawdsley in England. Bettie will be lovingly, laughingly and fondly remembered by Judy Aubrey (her "other” daughter), her dear and close friend Pat Street and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her granddaughter Laura Richardson (1979), her son in law Alex Richardson (1992) her parents Tom and Elizabeth King 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Bettie was always full of life and for years loved being on the tennis court and playing darts. She was involved with Br. 71 of the Royal Canadian Legion for many years. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave. entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 7-9. Funeral Services will be held in the Benner Funeral Chapel on Monday at 11 am. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Br. 71 will conduct a service at 7 pm on Sunday in the Funeral Home. If so desired, donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
