Dorothy was one of my parents' oldest and closest friends. I still remember her 65 years ago, with thick brown braids wound around her head and a great laugh as she welcomed us kids to her house, or trumped one of my father's aces in a game of cards. I remember she looked after my little brother and I when our family moved house in 1949. I remember how efficiently she ran the office at St. Paul's and her household at home. She was an example we teenage girls all looked up to. I remember watching "Mrs. Miniver" at her house with my mother and all of us having a good cry together. She had a big heart and a great spirit. She is surely with God and all who love her will miss her terribly.

Aunt Dorothy was one of the first people to welcome me to my new home in Canada. She was such a warm and loving lady. She was a shining example to everyone of everything good a person can be. We can rest assured she is with God and busy baking a batch of those wonderful butter tarts.
