Obituary of Doreen Robertson

Robertson: Doreen. Passed away at her home after a courageous battle on March 3rd, 2012 in her 84th year. Loving wife of the late Colin. Doreen leaves her in laws, Mary and Clayt Hesser of Fort Erie and Bob and Phyllis Robertson of Sault Ste Marie, her nieces and nephews, Greg (Sandy) Hesser, David (Sue) Hesser, Carol and Wayne Pucci, Bob and Paulette Reid and Sherry and Pat O’Connor their families and many wonderful and loving friends. Predeceased by her parents, her sister Verna and brother Allan. Born and Raised in Prince Albert Sask, Doreen began her teaching training and taught for a few years in Saskatchewan and Manitoba before to leaving to teach at a Canadian Military Base in Germany. There she met Colin and they were married in Germany in 1964 having 45 happy years together prior to his passing in 2009. Doreen was an active and proud member for over 40 years of the Douglas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church and worked alongside Colin with the Fort Erie Lions Club. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave. entrusted with arrangements. Friends and Family will gather Saturday March 10th, to visit from 10 am until the time of a service to celebrate Doreen’s Life at 11 o’clock at St. Paul’s Anglican Church 32 Idylewylde St. Fort Erie. A reception in the Church Hall will follow. If so desired, donations in Doreen’s memory would be appreciated to St. Paul’s Anglican Church or the Douglas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. A sincere thank you to all those that visited, sent prayers or cards during Doreen’s illness. This kept her spirits up and brought smiles to her face. A special thank you to her nurse Elizabeth, Dr. K. Scher and devoted friends Fran Blair and Marilyn McMillen for all they did.
