Obituary of James Brown

Brown, James Allen (July 14, 1947 – December 19, 2011) Passed away peacefully at Timmins and District Hospital after a brief illness in his sixty-fourth year. Jim was surrounded by his children and grandchildren in his last months which brought him great joy. Jim is survived by his four children, James (Kim) Brown of St.Catharines, Stacey (Antonio) Rondinelli of Fort Erie, Stephanie (Jason) Lebrun of Timmins, and Erick Brown of Niagara Falls. Missed greatly by his seven grandchildren, Wilem, Thomas, and Adriana Brown, Ava and Remy Rondinelli, and Shea and Scout Lebrun. Remembered with love by his sisters Joyce, Deb, and Barb (Hugh) and his nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by his parents, Frederick and Lillian Brown, his younger brother Robert (Bobby) Brown and his brother-in-law, Edward Kring. Jim was born and raised in Toronto where he attended Ryerson University. Upon completion, Jim took the opportunity to travel throughout Africa and Europe where he learned the value of hard work and the joys of travel. Jim returned to Canada and travelled throughout Ontario to work on various construction projects before starting his own construction company, James A. Brown Construction Ltd. in 1978. Jim worked on many projects throughout the Niagara region for the next twenty-five years and took special joy in completing projects in his adopted hometown of Fort Erie. Special appreciation and thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at Timmins and District Hospital. The nurses provided compassion and care beyond any expectations. A sincere thank you to Kathy, Vera, Chrissy, and Cindy. Thanks and gratitude to Dr. Julie Auger who spent countless hours providing care and support to Jim and his family over the last several months. Your kindness and friendship provided great comfort to our family. Jim will be greatly missed by his friends, colleagues, and especially his family. Arrangements are entrusted to Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home in Timmins and Benner Funeral Services in Fort Erie. The family will receive friends at Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie on Thursday December 22, 2011 from 1-4 pm & 7-9 pm and on Friday December 23, 2011 from 10 am-12 pm. A service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held on Friday December 23, 2011 at 1 pm in the Benner Funeral Services Chapel. If so desired, donations to the McMaster Hospital Ronald McDonald House in Jim’s memory would be appreciated.
