Raimondo (Raymond) Montana It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father and Nonno. Raymond was born in Realmonte Sicily Italy on February 14th, 1926. Beloved husband of 57 years to Teresa Montana (nee Salemi). Loving father of Susan (Marco) Marrone and Josie (John) Menchella. Cherished and proud Nonno of Christopher and Eric Marrone and Jonathan, Jordan and Jessica Menchella. Sadly missed by sisters-in-law Angelina and Gerlando Cirasolo, Pietrina and Marlene Montana of Fort Erie, brother-in-law Giuseppe and Mariana Salemi of Italy, many nieces, nephews and his extended family and cherished friends in Canada the USA and Europe. Predeceased by his parents Andrea and Assunta Montana and siblings, Salvatore, Rosa Sauter and Charles Montana, and brother in law Michael Sauter. Also predeceased by Paulo (Giuseppina) Salemi, Alfonso (Alfonsa) Salemi, Francesca (Nofrio) Puccio, Carmela (Libertino) Vingeri, Maria (Domenico) Schembre and Cologero (Antonietta) Salemi. A devoted, hardworking, social, jovial, compassionate, peaceful, wise, self-taught loving family man, he happily passed on life experiences to those around him. His passions included gardening and winemaking. He was a resident of Fort Erie for 60 years and a parishioner of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church. He was cofounder and co-owner of the former Frontier Roofing Ltd. He was a co-founder and life member of Fort Erie’s Italo-Canadian Club and a former member of Fort Erie’s Sportsman Club. The family extend their profound appreciation and gratitude to all the Angels, the medical staff and those who walked with him on his life’s journey. Benner Funeral Services 1105 Benner Ave. Fort Erie, entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 7-9 and on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9. Vigil prayers at 3 pm on Monday. Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock. Entombment to follow in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens.
