Obituary of Douglas Duchart

Duchart, Douglas November 19, 1934 - September 5, 2019 Peacefully after a brief illness, Doug passed away at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the age of 84. Loving husband of Betty for 58 wonderful years. Survived by his children Scott (Lisa), Margaret, and Tracy (Steve) Richer. Adoring 'Dougie' to his grandchildren, Steve Jr. (Katelyn) Richer and Brooke Richer. Will also be missed by his precious kitties, Jack and Ian. Survived by his brother William (Irene) and brother-in-law Bill McHale. Pre deceased by his sisters Margaret and Barbara. Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. A special thank you to Dr. Robert and the staff at the GNGH for their exceptional care. Cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate Doug's life will be held at Benner Funeral Home, 1105 Benner Ave. Fort Erie, on Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 1-4 pm. A private family interment will be held at a later date. If desired, donations in Doug's Memory may be made to the Fort Erie SPCA.
