Obituary of Mary Jennie Brand

BRAND, MARY (JEANETTE) - With sadness we announce the passing of Mary (Jeanette) Brand, who died suddenly at Douglas Memorial Hospital on February 14, 2019 at the age of 83.She leaves behind her loving partner Azade "Frenchie" LeBlanc, her children Daniel, David (Peggy), Judith, Tina, Joann, and Lawrence (Wilma) and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Delbert Brand (1983). She was a loving sister to Irene (Pete), Ernie and Lenny (Gladys) and will be missed.Jeanette's fondest memories were of the times she spent at her cottage on Buckhorn Lake, fishing, cooking and spending time with her family. She loved to laugh and tell jokes and stories. She would feed the birds and watch the animals play.She moved to Fort Erie 10 years ago but despite living far from some of her friends and family, she was committed to keeping in touch and enjoyed chatting on the phone with her loved ones.Jeanette had a unique sense of humour and chief among the things that she enjoyed was watching professional wrestling and television judges. Her family would laugh at this but she remained loyal to what she loved and could not be swayed. She knew what she liked and she apologized for nothing. Jeanette's family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr Scher and the staff at DMH. Everyone was kind, compassionate and patient with Jeanette and it was appreciated by those who loved her. A memorial for Jeanette will be held on February 20 between 6pm and 9pm at Benner Funeral Home.
