Obituary of Raymond Milton Bliss

After spending his last days at home being cared for by his family, Raymond passed away at the Douglas Memorial Hospital in the presence of his loving family on Saturday September 27th, 2014 at the age of 73. Loving husband of Gloria. Proud and cherished father of Matthew (Michelle) Bliss, Paul Bliss, Michele Bliss, Colleen (Scott) Jeffrey and Craig (Anita) Bliss. Beloved papa and grandpa to Ethan, Connor, Austin, Jacob, Kalan and Sarah. Also survived by his brother Nate (Martha) Bliss, the members of the Potyok family, his nieces and nephews and his extended family and many friends. Raymond grew up on the West Side of Buffalo and was a proud member of the Butler Mitchell Club. His love of sports was displayed in his regimented work-out schedule, his devotion to the Buffalo Bills and his enjoyment of Baseball. A mentor and respected friend, Raymond was a printer and employed with the Courier Express and Buffalo Evening News before working for the OLG at the Fort Erie Slots. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 7-9 and Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church at 11 am. A reception will follow in the Hall. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church Building Fund, the Douglas Memorial Hospital Palliative Care or the Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
