Obituary of Donald George Campbell

Donald passed away at home surrounded by the love and presence of his family on Thursday March 13th, 2014 at the age of 84. Loving husband of Margaret "June" Campbell. Don was a proud and loving family man who will be sadly missed. Survived by Son William George (grandchildren Katie and Brock), daughter Donna June (her husband Warren Mitchelltree) grandchild Michael, daughter Barbara Susan (her husband Cameron Macleod) grandchildren Sarah and Jennifer daughter, Patricia "Jane" (her husband Dave Schneider) grandchildren Andy and Kevin. He will always be remembered by Matthew (Nancy). Donald was the President and along with his brother John L. Campbell owned George Campbell Co. Ltd. and professionally served on the boards with the Ontario Construction Safety Association, Ontario Road Builders Association and the Canadian Construction Association and as a board member with Boyes Explosives. An active and giving community member, Don served various positions with the Junior and Sr. Chambers of Commerce, the Douglas Memorial Hospital, Fort Erie Public School Board, Art Park, Fort Erie Minor Hockey and the Cherry Hill Golf Club. A member of St. Paul's Anglican Church he was honoured as a Recipient of Niagara Award and Order of Niagara of the Anglican Church. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 pm at the funeral home. A service to celebrate Don's life will be held on Monday at St. Paul's Anglican Church at 11 am. If so desired, donations to St. Paul's Anglican Church would be appreciated by the family.
