Obituary of Leona Anna Moore

Moore: Leona Anna "Lee" - Lee was born in North Dakota 95 years ago. She passed away at Maple Park Lodge on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Cherished wife of the late Richard. Dear mother of Marie Annette Drew, Marie Leone Hilson, Harry Moore, Frances Moore and Brenda Moore. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Predeceased by her children Joseph, Carl, Wayne, Barbara and Peter as well as her siblings. She has many nieces, nephews and their families remaining. Her professional education at the University of Minnesota enabled her to achieve her aspirations in the Health field which then took her to Hawaii, New York and Washington. Upon arriving in our area, she had dreams and ideas for her new community. Lee was an active community member who provided her insight and experience to various organizations and political activities. She changed many lives through her direct involvement by giving unselfishly of her time and expertise. The impact of her tireless efforts inspired many people in our community. She made a difference! Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. Friends and family will gather at 10 a.m. on Friday March 16th in the Chapel where a service to celebrate Lee's life will take place at 11 a.m. Interment will follow a reception. If so desired, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or COPE.
