Obituary of Teresa D'Amelio

It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Teresa D'Amelio (nee Bonito), of Fort Erie, on March 31, 2017 at Douglas Memorial Hospital of Fort Erie, Ontario. Teresa was born in Accadia, Italy on February 4, 1927 where she lived until immigrating to Canada in 1953. She lived in Nelson, B.C. until she moved to Fort Erie in 1966. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerardo and her grandson Liam. Teresa was the loving mother of Frank (Carol), Rocco (Diana), Maria (Byron McKim), Joe (Lin), Margarite (Mark Dingley) and Gerry (Sandy). Cherished Nonna to Brett (Regina), Craig (Kim), Vahn (Sophie), Rebecca (Mike Baker), Gerry (Jamie), Meghan (Andrew Kidd), Giovanni (Tia), Brenna, Gabrielle, Devin, Nico, Tessa and Aless as well as bisnonna to Vincent, Isabel, Frankie, Michelle, Brandon, Jack, Camryn, Kaleb, Veronica, Olivia and Mason. Teresa is survived by her sister-in-law Nardina Bonito, nephew Rocco and niece Maria as well as extended family in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, in Buffalo, New York and in Italy (Accadia and Foggia). Our matriarch will be dearly missed by all. Benner Funeral Services 1105 Benner Ave. Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Sunday April 2nd from 1-4 and 7-9. Parish prayers in the funeral home at 3:30. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday April 3rd from St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church at 11 am. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. If so desired, donations made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Douglas Memorial Hospital in Fort Erie, Ontario would be appreciated.
