Obituary of Victoria Majoros
MAJOROS, Victoria (Mickey) Veronica
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Victoria (Mickey) Majoros, a truly amazing woman, at the age of 81 years, after a brief illness.
She was the loving Mother of Pamela Majoros (Okotoks,.AB), Terry (Cheryl) Majoros (Portage La Prairie, MB) and Brad (Angela) Majoros (Fort Erie, ON). She will be greatly missed by her beautiful grandchildren, Cole, Kail, Kylee, Kyndree, her niece Lynda (Majoros) Levair, and her many close and dear friends across Canada and in Florida.
Mickey led a very full and happy life. Born in Ituna, SK and raised on a farm outside of Melville, SK, she left home in her late teens and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. She became an Air Traffic Controller, met her future husband Vincent Majoros at C.F.B Comox, BC, and was married in 1959. She then retired from the RCAF in 1960. Mickey and Vince then had three beautiful children, Pamela, Terry and Bradley with whom they created a very loving and close-knit family.
After a few Air Force postings, Mickey and her family settled in North Bay, ON for many years where she managed a restaurant, before the loss of her husband Vincent in 1981. Mickey then moved to Welland, ON for a short period of time before moving to Okotoks, AB in 1990. An avid horsewoman, Mickey lived on her ranch with her second spouse Joe, fell in love with the mountains and indulged in her passion to raise and ride Quarter Horses for many years. During this time, Mickey got her Class A driver's license, and went on the road with Joe. They drove their truck together for many years until Joe passed away. Mickey then moved back to Sherkston, ON where she met her last love and companion, Jack. They enjoyed many wonderful years together travelling, snow-birding to Florida, attending many weekend functions with friends and enjoying their acreage, before Jack passed away in 2017. Her son Brad, daughter-in-law Angela and grandchildren were an enormous help to Mickey who resided there until her passing.
Mickey was always a very kind and gentle woman, with a touch of sass and fire. Many will remember the "wine-times", remarkable meals, games of Wii, laughter shared, and her intense love of her family and friends, coupled with her amazing drive and energy. She lived to entertain and surround herself with those she loved and who loved her. She was always the caregiver, putting her family and friends before herself.
Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She touched the hearts and lives of everyone she met with her warmth, wit, generosity, love of life, a positive outlook and infectious smile. We will miss her greeting of "Hi Sweetie", that was always followed by a huge hug.
No one lived life more than Mickey. We will love you forever, miss you and never forget you Mom.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to dear friends Karen & Randy (Foley) Loewen, who were a pillar of strength and support for the family and for Mickey. Heartfelt thanks also go out to the remarkable nursing staff, especially Susan and the doctors in the Greater Niagara General Hospital ICU. Your kind words of comfort and exceptional care of Mickey went beyond expectations.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date with close family and friends.
