Obituary of Margaret Isobel Edwards

EDWARDS, Margaret Isabel (Izzy) - of Ridgeway passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Welland County General Hospital on Friday, August 31, 2018. Forever missed by her children Ralph, Gordon (Patti), Jerry (Heather), and Carol (Greg) Schofield, who feel that there are billions of people in the world, but only one was "mom". Loving grandmother of Kevin, Jennifer, Steven, Ali Schofield and Laura Schofield, and great grandmother of Ember. Izzy was a devoted mother, a kind and generous grandmother, and a proud lifelong troublemaker. Growing up in an area near Milton fondly called "Whisky Hill", Isabel loved to fish, devoured books and enjoyed cooking, though could never manage to make a lemon meringue pie without it landing on the floor. A quick-witted woman, Izzy never let the truth get in the way of a good story. She will be remembered for her strength and resilience, love of laughter and sharp conversation, and will be desperately missed by those who knew and loved her. A private service will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Fort Erie SPCA.
