Obituary of Sherry Lynne Johnston

Johnston, Sherry Lynne (Passero) It is with broken hearts that the family of Sherry Johnston announce her passing on April 13th, 2012 at the Douglas Memorial Hospital. Devoted wife, best friend and soul mate of Tim for over thirty years. Proud and caring mother to Joshua, Jody, Jesse and Tiffany. Loving sister to David (Ingrid) Passero, Rick (Juanita) Passero, and Bonnie (Rick) Liske. Dear sister-in-law of Rob (Sharon) and Terry (Becky) Johnston, Jim (Gloria) Prentice, MaryLou (Murray) McGregor and Joe Pennimpede. Adored niece of Robert Passero, Lorene Mabee and Jacquie Seburn. Sherry leaves behind many adoring nieces and nephews, Stephen, Brian, Amanda and Nicole Passero, Kris and Joey Pennimpede, Kyle, Kory, Holly, Ashley and Mathew Johnston, Jimmy and Richard Prentice, Skip and Danny McGregor and Tammy Brooks as well as many cousins, great aunts and uncles. She was especially loved by her Auntie Hilda and Auntie Marge, and her cousins Kathy, Dianne and Peggy-Anne whom she was very close with. Sherry will be missed by her most cherished friends, Maria and Tom, Rob and Hera, Neil and Cheri, Wendy and Trent, Ray and Maria, Tom and Debi as well friends at The Bistro. Her neighbours Donny and Anna Blair as well as Mary and Clay Hesser will miss her dearly as she was not just their friend but over the years came to be part of their family. Sherry's children's friends also hold a special place in their hearts for her, especially Alex who was more like a part of the family and guided us all with his clear eyes and full heart. Sherry will be missed by the brokerage community she worked with over the years but especially Jacquie Napper and Melissa Saieva as well as her other friends at Lynden Canada. Sherry's greatest joy in life was the day she married her husband Tim and her happiness came with raising their four children. Together they shared an amazing life with family and friends. Sherry always felt she had been truly blessed many times over and would not have changed anything nor did she have any regrets. Sherry was first diagnosed with breast cancer in September of 2008 at which time she gave the fight of her life to be cured and returned to work at Lynden a year later. This past September Sherry was told her cancer had returned to her lungs and in November spread to her brain. She was terminal but continued to live out her time with quality and the best health possible so that she could enjoy her remaining time with family and friends making memories. She did exactly that with grace, dignity and lots of smiles. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. Friends and family are encouraged to visit from 1-3 & 6-9 on Monday April 16th. Funeral Services will be conducted in the Benner Funeral Chapel on Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock. If so desired, contributions to the Pretty in Pink Golf Tournament held at Bridgewater Golf Course to benefit the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
