Obituary of Wilson Douglas Smirle

Passed away on Monday, November 21st, 2016 at Douglas Memorial Hospital surrounded by the love of his family. Beloved husband of the late Barbara (nee McCadden), proud father of Faye Taylor and Karen (Paul) Tyno. Cherished grandfather of Brianna, Jenaye, Jake and Mandy. Sadly missed by his sisters Vera Booth, Fern York, Joan Reveler, and Muriel McRae and by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brother Eldon and sister Joyce Styles. As a proud car salesman for nearly 50 years, Wilson was a dedicated supporter of his local community, believing that good business was about maintaining the balance of giving and receiving. Not only was he a Rotarian and a Kinsman, he was also a long-serving elder at St. Andrew's-Knox Presbyterian Church. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave, Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. Friends will be received on Thursday, November 24 from 6-9pm. A service to honour Wilson's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 11am with reception and interment to follow.
