Obituary of Giovanni Battista Maturani

Maturani: Giovanni Battista Unexpectedly on Friday January 7th, at the Douglas Memorial Hospital in Fort Erie in his 89th year. Loving husband of Teresa. Proud father of Anna (Sandy) McQuiston and Louie Maturani. Cherished Nonno of Megan. Sadly missed by his brothers in law Lou (Jean) Cardilli, Biagio (Paola) Cardilli and sister in law Vincenzina (Alfred) Cardilli. Also survived by his extended family and many friends in Canada, the USA and Italy. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Natale, Giulio and Clementina. Giovanni was a lifelong employee of CNR, retiring in 1985 after over 40 years of service. A member of the Knights of Columbus and the Italo Canadian Club of Fort Erie. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock. Vigil prayers will be offered in the Funeral Home on Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Kidney Foundation or the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
