Obituary of Pauline Ann Black

Black, Pauline Ann Pauline passed away peacefully on December 18th, 2011 in her 75th year with her loving family at her side. Beloved wife of the late Nicholas Black (1997). Cherished mother of Maria (Tony) Bartlett, Paul (Tina) Black and Eileen (Ben) Black. Devoted grandmother of “her boys” Justin Bartlett, Kyle Robins, Daniel Black, Owen Robins and Brennan Black, and her beautiful granddaughter Makenna Black. Cherished sister of Muriel Drain of Hamilton, Adrian Topping of Amsterdam, Collette Donaghy of Cyprus, Nuala Robinson and Noel Topping both of Northern Ireland. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews both at home and abroad. Predeceased by her parents Samuel and Mary Topping of Northern Ireland. Pauline was a proud member of the Catholic Women’s League, the Royal Canadian Legion for over 30 years and was the Past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, where she was a member for 40 years. Many will remember her as a talented chef, having worked at the Fort Erie Racetrack Turf Club and the Garrison Inn. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Hamilton General Hospital Cardiac Care unit would be appreciated by the family. “Mommy, you are absolutely the strongest woman we have ever known and you will be sadly missed forever.”
