Obituary of Helmut Joseph Albert

Helmut Joseph Albert passed away on Friday April 27th at the Douglas Memorial Hospital after a brief illness in his 88th year. Loving husband of Elsa for over 59 years. Proud father of Gary (Sharon) of Mississauga, Eva (Bev) Pearce of Ridgeway, Carol (Jeff) Genzer of Ridgeway, Steven (Karri) of Collingwood and Tina of Fort Erie. Predeceased by his son Henry in 1974. Loving Opa to, Sean (Melissa) McCooey, Katie McCooey, Elaine (Stephen) Andrews, Alex Genzer, Kristen Genzer, Darrell and Claire Albert . Cherished great Opa to Nicolas, Ryan, Gwen, Caelan. Born in Mannheim Germany Helmut and Elsa along with their son Gary emigrated to Canada in 1954 and settled in Fort Erie. Helmut worked at Fleet Aircraft as a tool and die maker until his retirement. Everyone knew him as a kind and gentle man who loved his family and his adopted home. Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie entrusted with arrangements. Private services have been conducted. A graveside committal of Helmut’s cremated remains will take place at a future date. If so desired donations in memory of Helmut may be directed to the Trinity Lutheran Church Accessibility Fund would be appreciated by the family.
