Obituary of Kim Candella
Kim Candella
December 10, 1962 - January 16, 2025
It is with profound sadness and heartache that the Candella family announce the passing of their beloved wife, mother, sister and daughter, Kimberley Judith Candella. At home, with family at her side, Kim entered her eternal home with Jesus on January 16, 2025. Our Kim fought a short and courageous battle with cancer. Selfless and devoted, Kim remained positive and made sure her family was her focus to her last breath. As a Christian, Kim had deep faith and prayed for so many loved ones each day. Your prayers for her eternal rest will be a return testament of the love she had for you. Leaning on Psalm 91 “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust” Kim instilled the faith of Jesus Christ to each of her children, family and friends. Kim will be forever missed in this world and her family has solace knowing God had greater plans for her in Heaven. Kim especially wanted all her children to fondly remember her blessings and special words to each for this New Year and beyond.
Born December 10, 1962, Kim is survived by her father Gilbert and predeceased by her mother Sharon. Loving, caring and faithful wife to Dean Candella since November 11, 1989 (35 wonderful years). Loving and ever-present Mother to Christopher (Natasha), Caitlin (Robert) and Cole (Izabella). Always caring and guiding her children and so very happy they modelled their lives in Christ. Eagerly anticipating her grandchildren and being a Nana, she will now be looking over them from heaven. A special place in her heart for her fur babies -Penny, Lola and Jax. Kim is also predeceased by her loving in-laws who opened their arms and hearts to welcome her into the Candella family, Jim and Vernie Candella. Fondness also for Janice Gibson. Our heavy hearts were consoled knowing that those that have gone before us welcomed her into heaven.
Sadly, missed by all immediate and extended family members, sister Donna DiMarco (Anthony, nieces Alicia, Vanessa and partners), sister Karen Little (Trevor, nieces Marissa and Alanna). Kim’s extended family through Dean will forever miss her hospitality, compassion and spiritual guidance; Nancy Stapleton (Randy predeceased, niece Katie, nephew Alex, David and partners), Danny Candella (Aimee, nephew Wyatt and nieces Olivia and Madeline), Paul Candella (Dianne, nephews Shawn and Jimmy and niece Amanda), Patty Jose (Brian, nephew Liam, Seth, Aidan and niece Harper), Christopher Candella (Faith), Lynn and Gren Nagy (nieces Lindsey, Brittney, nephew Greg and partners). Fondly remembered by so many cousins and those through her marriage to Dean, she treasured each moment she had with them and cared deeply for them. Kim’s network of friends was extensive, and each had a special place in her heart. She cherished her time with them making so many memories that will be forever treasured.
Kim and Dean made the life decision for Kim to depart the workforce early in her career and devote her time and energy to raising her loving family. We always agreed this was the toughest job in the world and the reward would be seen in the life their children made in mirroring everything she taught them and indeed so very true. Kim graduated from Fashion Design and took great pleasure and a keen eye for interior design. What will be forever remembered by anyone who met Kim is that she was always there to listen to anyone’s problems, a compassionate voice and always saw the good in people.
The Candella family wishes to express our sincere gratitude to the Palliative Team with Dr. A. Gupta and nursing Care Partners Nellie and Shyvonne. Their compassion and attentiveness to Kim was immeasurable. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the Trillium Health Partners and staff that cared for her from diagnosis to initial treatment.
