Obituary of Adam Spence
Adam Raymond Lyall Spence, 40, of Welland, Ontario, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at Benner Funeral Home, 1105 Benner Ave, Fort Erie, on Thursday, December 5th, at 2:00 PM.
Adam was born in Welland and, over the course of his life, was welcomed into the home of Marilyn and Kim Smith and their family in Fort Erie. He was embraced as a beloved member of their family, alongside Ryan, Leslie, Travis, and Aaron, with whom he shared many cherished memories and traditions. Adam's journey also allowed him to experience the true meaning of family connection. He attended Greater Fort Erie Secondary School, where he met his lifelong friend, Loretta. After graduating in 2004, Adam moved into his own place in Fort Erie, where he built his own community and forged lasting friendships. He will be deeply missed by his dear friend, John Minogue, his support network at Community Living Fort Erie, and his special connection with Paula Steinhaus.
Adam was an avid skater, often found at the local arenas, and he eagerly volunteered for his community, notably with the Santa Claus Parade and the Fort Erie Friendship Festival.
He is survived by his father, Raymond Tanguay, and was predeceased by his mother, Donna Spence (2020).
Adam will be laid to rest alongside his mother, Donna Spence, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Welland at a later date.
