Obituary of Louis Kovacs
We gather to celebrate the life of Louis Kovacs (1939–2024), who passed away peacefully after a long life and short illness. Born in Hungary, Louis came to Canada in 1958 with his brother Paul (1938–2024), where he met his wife Janet (m. 1965). He is survived by his siblings George and Eva. Louis was trained as a cabinet maker and worked several jobs to support his young family, including his time as a carpenter for Niagara Parks. Proud father of Edwin (Kim), Ken (Lynn), and Elizabeth (Mike), and adoring Grandpaw to Skylar (Tyler), Jordan (Hailey), Morgan, and River. Louis loved his family, his friends, and his community. His coffee crew and Wednesday night wing buddies will miss his stories. Some of his most cherished times were spent organizing and cheering on local athletics. He will be remembered for his many contributions to FE Minor Hockey, soccer, and scouting, and especially for his steadfast support of the Junior B Meteors. Now at peace and reunited with his love, Janet, Louis will be truly missed by all who knew him, and his legacy will never be forgotten.
