Hardcastle: James Douglas
James Douglas Hardcastle passed away in his 91st year. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years , Donna (ne Jiggins). He has been predeceased by his mother and father, immigrants from England, and his sisters, Pauline, Dorothy and Irene. He was a lifelong resident of Bridgeburg/ Fort Erie, working for various local industries. His passion was antiques, restoring and selling them, through his shop and at antique markets. He was a gardener who, for many years, grew a lot of vegetables that Donna would can. He kept up with current events through the paper and TV until the very end. He had a remarkable memory and could enjoyably relate many events of the family and his youth in the early days. He will be missed by his nieces, Sandy, Sherry, and Karen.
Visitation will be held on Thursday June 20, 2024 from 1-2:30 p.m. at Benner Funeral Services, 1105, Benner Ave., Fort Erie, Ontario.
