Obituary of Linda Van Oirschot

Linda F. Van Oirschot passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Douglas Memorial Hospital in Fort Erie, Ontario.  She is survived by her loving husband, John, of 57 years.

Born on June 24, 1944 in Niagara Falls, Ontario to the late Vincenzo and Antonette (Leone) Pascuzzi. She is a graduate of the Loretto Academy, NFCVI, and the Teacher’s College in Hamilton, Ontario.  She was a Primary School Teacher with the Niagara Catholic District School Board until her retirement in 1998. Many little faces had Mrs. Van Oirschot as a teacher over her career.

Linda enjoyed travelling to places such as Portugal, Italy and Hawaii, and spending time at the cottage, in spite of the mosquitos.  A favorite was time with the grandchildren in the lake.

She also enjoyed time with family and friends, playing cards, reading, crosswords, sudoku, word search, and puzzles.

She was creative and spent time with pottery and sewing especially making dresses and bonnets for her granddaughters.

Linda is predeceased by her parents, her brother, Frank and her son, Kevin.

She will be remembered by her husband John, her sister-in-law, Cathy Pascuzzi, daughter-in-law, Kelly (Givens) Van Oirschot, son, Michael and Laurie (Mullen) Van Oirschot, grandchildren, Allison, Aaron, Melissa and Zachary and nephews, Vincent, Patrick and Stephen Pascuzzi and their families.

Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Rd. Fort Erie, Ontario entrusted with arrangements.  Visitation will be on Friday, February 23 from 5:00-8:00 pm with the Funeral Service in the chapel on Saturday, February 24 at 11:00 am.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Friends of the Library in Fort Erie, Ontario.
