Obituary of Irmgard Safian

Irmgard Safian passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, December 29th, 2023 at Crescent Park Lodge, Fort Erie.  She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Safian (May 4th, 1995) and is survived by her loving daughters Diane Osborn (Robert d. July 25, 2022), Sandra Safian, and Cindy Musselman (Grant).  She was the loving grandmother of 6 grandchildren: Harold Robert, Nicholas, Kyle, Owen, Kody, and Holly and seven greatgrandchildren: Robert James Barrett Osborn, Kendra Aurora Osborn, Carter Hansen Schultz, Jacqueline Musselman, Travis Musselman, Scotty Musselman, Rustin Musselman and Henry Hardison and two great great grandchildren: Sophia and Lucca Osborn-Mascioli.    

 

She is also survived by her sister Ilse Luck in Cuxhaven, Germany.  

 

Irmgard was born on the 19th day of September 1929 in Cuxhaven, Germany and was the daughter of Albert and Herte Busold.

 

Irmgard met Stan, the love of her life, at a dance in Cuxhaven, Germany when he was with the British Forces in Europe.  Once he moved to Canada, he brought her here and they were married December 6th, 1952. 

 

Irmgard worked on the line at Patheon (formerly Strong, Cobb, Arner and  Custom Pharmaceuticals).

 

A private family service will be held following internment at McAffee Cemetary.

 

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Darren Flagg of Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Avenue, Fort Erie.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family would gratefully appreciate memoriam donations to The Heart & Stroke foundation.    

 

The family would also like to extend their most heartfelt thanks to the staff at Crescent Park Lodge for the wonderful care they took of Irmgard.   

Finally, Irmgard and Stan are together again,  dancing in each other’s arms into eternity….
