It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Julia (Ethel) Perdue on
December 18th, at the age of 93, surrounded by family and hand in hand with her
husband Jerry.

Ethel leaves behind her husband and soulmate of over 70 years, Jerry Perdue. Their love
and devotion to each other was a gift to our family. Loving mother to Brad Perdue, Greg
(Isabel) Perdue, Russ (Trish) Perdue, and Trish (Donny) Mills.

She will be dearly missed by her 10 grandchildren Michael (Natalie), Nicole (Marcus),
Matthew (Christina), Stephanie, Krista, Jacquelyn (Adam), Jordan Kewell, Kyle Kewell
(Karly), Ryan Mills, Julia Mills-Bolton (Jake). Ethel was the proud great-grandmother
to 14 great-grandchildren.

Ethel was born in Milk River, AB and moved to Salmon Arm, BC as a young girl. She
attended business college in Kelowna and then returned to Salmon Arm to work in a
local Law office, where she met Jerry. They married in BC and honeymooned in Niagara,
where they stayed and made Fort Erie home for the past 70 years. Early on she worked
as a secretary at Fleet before leaving to have children. Once her children were all in
school she went to work at St. Philomena school where she was secretary for 25 years.
After retirement she and Jerry spent many winters in Ormond-by-the-sea, FL where
they made some of their favourite memories.

Ethel had a profound impact on those who knew her. She led a life filled with deep and
lifelong friendships; thank you to each of you that held her dear. She was the ultimate
example of a wife, mother and grandmother and spent her life making sure we all felt
loved and cared for. Even in her final days she was still fussing over us and giving us
compliments, as only she could. We will miss her nurturing soul, quick wit and beautiful
smile immensely. We loved her more than words can say.

The family would like to extend our thanks to the staff at Gilmore Lodge for the
exceptional love and care given.

Donations in memory of Ethel can be made to the Douglas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
