Obituary of Russel Leslie Edmunds
We are devastated to announce the sudden and tragic passing of Russel Edmunds in the city of Buffalo, New York on September 23rd, 2023.
Devoted husband of Laura (Potter) for 49 fun filled years. Beloved father to Sam (Debbie) and Michelle Edmunds. Prideful Papa to Scott (Kadence) Sarah and Noah. Big Russ, as he was affectionally known for his obvious larger than life presence and personality loved fishing (his way), a Game of Golf, a few wobbly pops now and then, family and friends. His most cherished and adored role bar none was Papa. Russ was so proud of his exceptional grandchildren which he lived for and passionately wanted a better world for them.
Big Russ is survived by his loving siblings Karen Garvey, Marybeth (Mike) McKinley and Jeff (Bernice) Edmunds, sisters-in-law Diane (Terry) Tomalty, Patty (Bob Clayton) Turke, Paula (Glenn Nobel) and Jill (The Late Larry) O’Guin, as well as his aunt Dorothy Angstadt of New Jersey and many nieces and nephews. Russ was predeceased by his parents Russ and Peggy, in-laws Lorraine and Jim Potter, his sister Georgina and her husband Willy Mark as well as his brother Brad. The untimely departure of Russ has undeniably left a hole in our lives and hearts as Big Russ was one of a kind.

Private funeral services have been entrusted to Benner Funeral Services, Fort Erie, Ontario.
A celebration of Russ' life will be held on Saturday November 4, 2023 at the Fort Erie Legion from 1pm-5pm.
