Obituary of Alvin Otto Mehlenbacher

Mehlenbacher, Alvin Otto (Ozzie)

Alvin went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 in his 98th year.  He is survived by his soul mate of 77 years, Ruth (nee Hooper) and his 5 children, Kenneth (Bonnie), Norma (Wilf) Hancock, Earl (Vali), Bruce (Linda) and Fay (Jim) Fair.  Proud grandpa to his 15 grandchildren, Karen, Andrea, Jill, Julie, Nicole, Craig, Kenneth, Carrie, Kathy, Andrew, Michael, Paul, Amanda, Bethany and Katie. As well as his 32 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

One little great-great-granddaughter left us in 2008, Emily Mae. She lived just three days, but we rejoice knowing that she and her grandpa are reunited and enjoying each others snuggles. Alvin was also predeceased by his parents Otto and Mabel (nee Knoll) and by his sisters Velma (Vivian) Holmes and Edna (Everton) Holmes.

Special Thank you to Dr. Scher and his palliative care staff, especially Cindy Horn and nurse Amanda Brady, for their excellent care they provided to our father and grandpa.

Friends and family are invited to a time of visitation on Sunday, April 30, 2023 from 1-4 PM at Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Monday, May 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Benner Funeral Home Chapel.
