Obituary of Margaret Rose Russell
Margaret Rose Russell (nee Stirling)
January 13, 1934, to March 24, 2023
Margaret passed away peacefully at Maple Park Lodge Nursing Home on Fri Mar 24th, 2023, at the age of 89. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Richard (Dick) Russell, longtime companion Matt Schaffer, sisters Jane Case and Marie Hiusser and twin brothers Ken and Keith Stirling.
Loving mother of Richard (Meg)Russell of Dundas and Melissa (Ralph) Muro of Fort Erie. Loving grandmother of Richard (Charlene) Russell, Cameron Russell, Rachel (Jamie) Haig, Anthony Muro and Great grandmother to Theo Haig. Sadly, missed by in laws Bob and Shirley Russell, family friends Ron and Bill and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret had many jobs in her lifetime, working for the army at CFB London Dr. Somerville the optometrist and lastly for many years at UPS until her retirement.
Marg and her husband Dick spent many years devoted to the Lions Club. Margaret was also an avid gardener and belonged to the Fort Erie Horticultural Society for many years. She was involved with the PC Ladies group and a woman’s bowling league. But for her family, she will be remembered for her painting. Water colours, oils, she tried in all of it and her family proudly hangs them in their homes.
The Family would like to thank Dr. Scher and the staff at Maple Park Lodge and her caregiver Robin.
Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., entrusted with arrangements. The family will recieve friends on Tuesday March 28th from 4-7pm.
Funeral Services will be held in the chapel on Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock.
Interment at McAffee Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to attend a reception after the interment, details to follow.
