Obituary of Susan Pisaric
The family announces with sorrow the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother Susan Pisaric (nee Ruiz) at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, at the age of 95, on Monday, January 30, 2023.
Predeceased by her husband Joseph Pisaric (1978) and her three brothers. Loving mother to David (Cindy) Pisaric of North Bay, Ontario and Christina (Craig) Pielechowski of Holland, New York. Loving grandmother to Clarissa (Steve) Mariotti of St. Albert, Alberta, Andrew Pisaric of St. Catharines, Ontario and Thalia Pisaric of Nanaimo, BC. Loving great grandmother to Camilla Mariotti.
In Canada, sister-in-law to Anna (2023) and Erhard (2008) Marks, Frank Pisaric (2017), Adolph (Edna) Pisaric and Donna (David) Williams. Aunt to Joe (Chris) Gesjorskyj, Susan Marks, Patricia (Terry) Cain, Christopher (Kim) Pisaric, Michael (Kristin) Pisaric and Beatrice (Byron) Goyes.
Susie was born on February 22, 1927 in Medellin, Colombia and immigrated to New York, New York. She met the Griffis family in New York city and travelled with them to Buffalo, New York and Fort Erie, Ontario where she met Joseph and married in 1960. Susie lived in Fort Erie until 1987 when she moved to St. Catharines, Ontario. In 2021, Susie moved to North Bay, Ontario into the Empire Retirement Residence where she lived independently.
Susie was close to her family in Canada, USA and in Colombia. She had a particularly close relationship with her three grand children Clarissa, Andrew and Thalia. She met her new great granddaughter Camilla through video calls. Susie was especially thankful to her sister-in-law, Donna, for all the support she provided over the years. She became Gramma to the Pielechowski and Feneziani families in Holland, New York. Susie was also grateful for the many rides from the farm in Feronia to her apartment at the Empire by Nadine Fownes.
Susie made friends easily throughout her life, adapted to change, was always willing to help others and leaves many great memories. The family is grateful to the kind and loving residents and staff at the Empire who got to know her and made her time there so welcoming and enjoyable.
Services in North Bay, entrusted to Hillside Funeral Services https://www.hillsidefuneral.ca/obituary/Susan-Pisaric Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at the family plot in the Pleasantview Cemetery in Fonthill, Ontario. In memory of Susie, donations can be made to the North Bay Food Bank.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Grantham Lions Club, 732 Niagara St., St. Catharines, Ontario L2M 7W7.
