Obituary of Richard Thomas McLennan
McLennan : Richard
It is with great sadness we share the sudden passing of our dad and husband on April 30, 2022 at the age of 75. Richard leaves behind his amazing “fine bride” of 55 years, Patricia. High school sweethearts right until the end. He will be missed more than words can say by his daughter Michelle Connaughton (Jim) and his son and best friend Scott McLennan (Colleen). He leaves his grandchildren Taylor and Connor Connaughton and Sophie and Emellia McLennan with wonderful memories. Richard “The Rock” will be deeply missed by his loving brother Brian McLennan (Wendy). He was a dear uncle to Jenn, Jason, Jodi, Tami and Lori. We will be forever greatful to Cathy Simpson and Carrie McKinley McLennan who provided endless support throughout the years. Richard was a hard-working family man employed for many years at CN Rail as a Diesel Mechanic. To finish off his career, he was a Millwright at Atlas Steel and Sherwin-Williams. He was also self-employed as a wedding photographer for many years on the side. He loved fishing and boating with his side kick Pinderman and the wonderful crew at Sugarloaf Harbour, shooting pool, golfing, bowling, coaching hockey, baseball, umpiring baseball, caring for his gardens and lawn, and having beers with the neighbours especially Tommy. He truly had a tough go for many years medically and personally but he always persevered. Finally at peace, Dad was no doubt greeted in heaven with a beer by his brothers Keith and John and brother-in-law Jim.. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 14 from 1-5 pm at The Plaice, Garrison Rd, Fort Erie. Memories will be shared at 3:30 pm. A sincere huge thank you to all the Dufferin Street neighbours as well as Dr. Csanadi. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice.
