Walter Strutz and family send deep condolences to Mary Waytena and family.
Peter Waytena was Walter’s uncle but they were only six years apart in age. One memory that Walter recalls is the wedding of Mary and Peter in Honeymoon, Saskatchewan. Although Mary and Peter soon moved to Ontario, over the years they did visit one another at each other’s homes and those are happy memories.
You will be missed, Uncle Peter, may you rest in peace.

My very first “real” job was working as a clerk at Erie Jewellers. I loved my job, even the endless dusting of the China shelves and have not so fond memories of vacuuming the sand flies out of the front window displays.
Peter was a true gentleman and so friendly. Mary, I am so thankful that you and Peter treated me like family. Before I worked in the store I helped Mary with housework and graduated to ironing and folding Peter’s dress shirts. Susan, you were one of my cutest (and mischievous) little kids for babysitting. Robbie was also a favourite, especially on the nights Mary made us sloppy joes for supper! And always got a fancy ride home in the Marquis!
My boyfriend at the time (now my husband) was grateful for the opportunity you gave him to earn some money painting the exterior of the store …..probably in 1969
All my sympathy for your loss
