Obituary of Joyce Passero

Joyce Elvina Passero(nee Knighton) 1939-2021

It is with great sadness to announce that Joyce Passero peacefully passed away December 1st at home, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Predeceased by her husband Ralph and long time partner Daryl Wells Jr.  Also predeceased by her parents Ellen & John and loving brothers Jack, Roy and David.

Loving mother of  Cheryl (Vito) Brigantino, Angela (Joe) Adams, Laurel (Gary) Bain and Christopher (Emily) Passero.  Loving grandmother to Dominique, Alexander, Lilah and Scarlett.  Joyce will be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Joyce was born and raised in Fort Erie and had a fulfilling career at the Fort Erie Race Track.  Joyce took pride in being named the first female placing judge in North America.  Joyce was a precious friend to many and was always there for friends and family.  Her hugs and kisses will be dearly missed along with her “just peachy” attitude.

Special thanks to Wilfred Hamell (Laurel's loving partner) for opening up his home and helping care for her.  Thank you to Dr. Ephrat and nurse Lisa for many home visits and care.  Thank you to Dr. Scher for making the saddest moment a bit bearable.  Thank you to the nurses and psw’s that came and helped care for Joyce.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a local charity.

Family and friends will be gathering in the Spring for a celebration of life.
