Obituary of Ernest Billau

Ernst “Ernie” Billau passed away on November 26, 2021 at the age of 89 after a courageous battle with cancer. He maintained his dry sense of humor, positivity and strong will until the end. His family will forever cherish his memory and miss him dearly. Born in Alzey, Germany in 1932, Ernie immigrated to Fort Erie, Ontario with his family in 1951. Ernie loved spending time with his family on the water boating on the Niagara River. Aside from boating he used his well-known skills as a tradesman to always help his family, friends, neighbors, and dock mates. He was known to everyone in his life as honest, hard-working and dedicated to his family. Ernie is survived by Margaret, his wife of 61 years, his children, Richard, Leslie and Douglas, his grandchildren, Sarah, Derek, Emily, Jason, Joseph and Jackson, and great granddaughter Emma. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Scher for his commitment and sensitivity to Ernie. Arrangements entrusted in Benner Funeral Services, Fort Erie.
