Obituary of Ronald Joseph Canavan

July 4, 1946 - March 11, 2021

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Ron, after a courageous journey with cancer, at the age of 74. Predeceased by his parents Hattie (1978) and Cecil (2010) Canavan. He will be terribly missed by his loving wife Laurie Canavan (nee Kinghorn). Ron was the proud and dedicated father of Michael Canavan, Reid (Katy) Canavan, Rhonda (Mike) Rivers, and Carly (Rob) Canavan-Larocque. While Ron truly loved his children, his pride and joy were his 7 grandchildren. Will be sadly missed and remembered by his siblings Richard (Wendy) Canavan, Leona Manuel, Sharon (Ted) Salci, Janet Canavan and Nancy (Marty) Tkachuk. 

A Memorial Service will be held at Benner Funeral Services, 1105 Benner Ave., Fort Erie on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 2:00 PM, followed by an interment at McAffee Cemetery. Due to current Covid Restrictions, space is limited and those wishing to attend must call the funeral home (905) 871-0444 between 9am and 4pm, to reserve a spot. Only those with reserved spots will be allowed into the building. A recording of the Memorial Service will be available on the Benner website by end of day Tuesday, to watch at your convenience.
