Obituary of Pam Yasko
Pamela Yasko (nee Thombs)
Pamela passed peacefully on Wednesday February 17, 2021. Pam left this world as she lived, in a house filled with the people she loved. She was predeceased by her parents Marjorie (Simpson) and George Thombs. Her legacy lives on in her children Miranda (Christopher) Heaton, Taryn (Jason) Scholtens, and Martine (Brandon) Yasko, and in her grandchildren Harrison, Baron, Harper, and Oakley Heaton, Maxwell (Justine), Axel, Arlie, Gunnar Scholtens, and Briar Lidbetter as well as her great grandchild Mayumi. She will be deeply missed by her siblings Bob and Anne Thombs and Gloria (Michael) Danysiuk and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Pam will be fondly remembered by her lifelong friends Nancy and Bonnie and her dear friends Janis, Mary, Vince, and Theresa and her mother in law Jacqueline Yasko. Pam was a teacher for 39 years with the Niagara Catholic District School Board and spent most of that time at Our Lady of Victory in Fort Erie. Even after retirement, she continued to share her love of learning with her grandchildren. Pam was ever the good bargain hunter and we are certain that packages will continue to arrive from Amazon for weeks to come.
The family is forever grateful to Dr. Scher and nurses Barbara, Alex, and Robin for their excellent care which allowed us to keep Pam at home as she wished. Cremation has taken place. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private mass will be held at St. Michaels Church in Fort Erie. A celebration of Pam's life will be held at a later date.
